We are looking for two dedicated Neighbourhood Highways Officers (NHO’s) to join our dynamic teams. These roles offer the perfect blend of site work and home-based flexibility.
What You'll Do:
- Community Engagement: Work closely with local County Councillors, Town and Parish Councils, and community groups to address local issues and inform them about upcoming projects.
- Project Design: Identify and design local highway schemes through community consultations and data analysis.
- Policy Compliance: Assess speed limit requests and investigate public reports to ensure compliance with County Council policies.
- Funding and Approvals: Identify funding opportunities and manage applications for various local infrastructure projects, including street cafes, road closures, and more.
Who You'll Work With:
You'll be based at either our Newton Abbot or Ivybridge depots, collaborating with a small, supportive team of highways officers covering either Teignbridge or the South Hams. You'll also have the backing of colleagues from across the County Council.
