An invitation to join us at Young Devon as our next Mental Health Youth Worker.
Are you passionate about the emotional wellbeing and mental health of children and young people?
Do you think you can make a difference as part of a new multi-disciplinary team directly linked to a Primary Care Network?
At Young Devon, we’re committed to making a difference for children and young people. This is a new and exciting opportunity to be part of our wider wellbeing team, using youth work skills to providing mental health and wellbeing support for children and young people to Primary Care Networks (PCNs) in Devon. PCNs are groups of GP practices who work together in a local area.
You will be working for Young Devon, based in a PCN as a member of the integrated teams in GP surgeries. We are looking for competent practitioners, able to work autonomously and creatively in a busy and demanding role. You will help to reduce isolation and improve health and wellbeing through aspects of social prescribing, health coaching, care co-ordination and low-level psychological intervention. Supporting individuals by engaging in fun and developmental activities, helping them to access a range of support services and interventions to bridge the gap between Primary Care and Secondary Mental Health Services.
We have a number of roles in Torbay, Exeter, Plymouth and South Hams. If you would like a chance to really make a difference for young people and have the skills outlined in the person specification, can engage them and help them to feel supported, stay connected and build their resilience, character and confidence, then we want to hear from you.
Please read the job description and person specification. If you then have any further questions about the role, please contact Ros Arscott on 07894 512246.
Young Devon is a youth work charity (1057949) who is actively committed to embracing diversity. We particularly welcome applicants from areas under-represented within our workforce. Wheelchair access may be available.
