A Matron’s position is one of importance and responsibility. The Matron deals with the health and welfare of the pupils, and has a special role in assisting the Housemaster/mistress to create a happy and well-ordered atmosphere throughout the Boarding House.
The position requires someone who understands and empathises with young people and is able to demonstrate good sense. They should have excellent interpersonal skills, be a good listener, flexible in outlook, reliable, warm and friendly in disposition.
There are three position available:
- 30 hours per week between 8:00-14:30 including some weekend hours
- 30 hours per week between 12:00-20:30 with 1 in 3 weekend and overnight cover
- 15 hours per week between 14:00-20:30 with 1 in 3 weekend and overnight cover
The role is 34 weeks per year and permanent. It is possible that the arrangement could be resident in a boarding house if this would suit the successful applicant.
