Management Information Officer - Early Help (Ref.3116)

We are seeking to recruit a Management Information Officer to join the Education/Early Help business intelligence, systems and contracts team within Devon County Council.

This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to develop, refine and expand their skills in a data management role with an opportunity to participate in the Level 4 Data Analyst apprenticeship at Exeter College. The post is advertised for a fixed term to 31st August 2024, however we anticipate on the successful completion of the qualification that the role will become established and full time.

You will be working within the Early Help data management team to support the Early Help system and Devon’s response to the national Supporting Families programme, as well as being involved in the team’s data transformation work.

You will gain experience in a broad portfolio of work including:

Data Management – Bulk data activities for cross system data integration and analysis; data quality assurance including checking for conformity and identifying quality issues; investigate and accurately match records from differing data sources; ensure data work adheres to information governance and security policies.

System support - Provide support for the early help electronic case recording IT system by understanding how the system works to support users and stakeholder requirements; demonstrate customer focus skills with the ability to communicate effectively, precisely and succinctly to a wide audience with varying degrees of knowledge on a technical and/or process level, using various communication media such as digital, written and verbal.

Reporting and Analysis – Support data processes by gathering evidence and data from numerous sources to support funding claims, ensuring that required standards are met; returns to central government; further development of PowerBI reporting; analysing and interpreting data from a range of sources to produce valuable reports and insight for a broad and varied audience.

We need you to:

  • Have gained experience in working with data across a variety of IT systems.
  • Be able to demonstrate experience of working with IT applications, systems and solutions.
  • Have experience in using Microsoft Office, in particular with advanced use of Excel.
  • Have excellent attention to detail and focus on accuracy.
  • Be organised and flexible in your work.
  • Be part of a team and a good communicator with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience with SQL or PowerBI or similar business intelligence tools although not essential is welcomed.

 

The role will be a hybrid role with home and office working. Office working will be at County Hall, Exeter.
