The Acorn Multi Academy Trust consists of seven primary schools; St Andrew’s CE Primary, Chardstock, Mrs Ethelston’s CE Primary, Uplyme, Axminster Community Primary, Membury Primary, St Mary’s CE Primary, Thorncombe, Loders CE Primary and Marshwood CE Primary, Bridport.
We are looking to recruit a Maintenance Handyperson to join our premises team, who will carry out proactive and reactive day-to-day maintenance, essential to the smooth running of our school sites and their grounds. If you have a can-do attitude with a passion and energy to take on a variety of tasks, we would love to hear from you.
This is an exciting opportunity for a multi-skilled person who is practical and keen to actively contribute to the upkeep of our seven schools. The successful candidate will have a good working knowledge of buildings maintenance and will undertake decoration, repair works, minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry and small projects across the school buildings and grounds. All of this must be done in a way that focuses on working collaboratively with colleagues across the trust.
You will be:
• highly skilled, conscientious and hardworking,
• reliable and proactive
• You must have a full driving licence and must have access to a personal vehicle for using for work purposes to travel to and from different work sites. Mileage will be payable for such travel. Ability to travel according to the needs of the job, with reasonable adjustments, if required, in compliance with regulations.
• Experience in a similar role or setting would be valuable, but is not essential
Please note, whilst we are an Academy Trust, this role is not term time only, as you will be required to be on site throughout school holidays when external contractors may be available.
