Marland is a successful all age (KS1-4) special school for students with Social, Emotional and/or Mental Health (SEMH) needs. It is currently located across three sites; Peters Marland, Barnstaple and Central Bideford and will be opening a new 'Secondary Day School' (Yr7-Yr11) in East of the Water, Bideford in April 2023 for 40 students. This teaching post will be based at this new school site and commence April 2023.
The overall Marland group of schools are currently graded as 'Good' by Ofsted Education, with the residential care provision separately judged to be 'Outstanding' by Ofsted Social Care inspectorate. Our overarching ethos is based around personalisation and meeting the needs of each individual child. We utilise 'PiPs' based social and emotional development at the core of everything we do.
The postholder will support the Headteacher, Assistant Headteacher and Curriculum Manager with the daily management of the welfare, pastoral care and behaviour of all students across the extended school day, including supporting the learning of students who withdraw themselves, or who are withdrawn from their scheduled classes due to short term difficulties.
Training and ongoing professional development opportunities are offered to all staff, as are potential promotion opportunities due to the ongoing expansion of our popular schools.

This role requires a DBS disclosure.
This role requires the ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence and fluency in English.
