Do you believe that every child deserves a fresh start every day? Do you believe that learning can take place anywhere, any time? School for Inspiring Talents (SfIT) is an independent day school, with sites in Newton Abbot and Ashburton supporting the most vulnerable young people in society aged 5-16; those children who do not find it easy to fit into existing educational provision. It is our intention that every student will achieve their full potential in both academic and personal development. We provide an alternative to residential education, working with parents and carers to support our students to develop independence and social skills.
All of our children have social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) challenges, which can be exacerbated by being on the autistic spectrum. By combining our therapeutic methods with creative activities and a specialist curriculum, our staff work together to ensure we have the greatest possible impact on our students’ emotional and educational development.
As a Learning Support Assistant based at our school(s) you will be a key member of a close-knit and supportive team, working together to enhance the education of our students. The needs of the students at our school always come first, this means that flexibility is key – from day to day you may be working with students 1:1, in small groups or supporting the class teacher in whole class activities. This is a great opportunity for determined and resilient professionals, with excellent opportunities to build your skills and experience within a growing school.
We are always looking to develop and progress our staff and should you think this role is for you, we’d be happy to talk at interview about your next steps and career journey. All of our team benefit from clinical supervision and a comprehensive employee benefits package, which includes health insurance and wellbeing activities. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff and volunteers to share our commitment. This role requires an enhanced DBS disclosure.
