We are looking to recruit a full time Learning Adviser on a 1 year fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave. Ideally applicants will be based in mid or west Devon, however we work across the county and there could be the option to be based in one of our other centres in Devon, for the right candidate.
The Learning Adviser team is committed to supporting learners to overcome barriers to engagement and progression, and to empower our learners to make informed choices regarding work, learning, and voluntary opportunities through wraparound information, advice and guidance (IAG).
Key responsibilities and skills of the Learning Adviser role:
- Maintain a public profile across Devon, developing and fostering relationships in the community and offering impartial career advice that meets individual’s skills, interests, and aspirations.
- Have good digital skills to support learners and colleagues both remotely and face to face.
- Provide an excellent customer focused service that supports our learners onto the right course for them or appropriate signposting to other organisations.
- Be able to work independently and as part of a team, to find solutions to the barriers our learners face.
- Foster a safe and inspiring learning experience.
- Develop an understanding of learner needs, including those with physical or learning disabilities, and work with colleagues to enable information-gathering to support exam access arrangements to be in place, in a timely way.
- Have effective communication skills across all media ensuring effective data management and confidentiality.
- To participate and represent Learn Devon in marketing, learning and careers events.
Reporting into the CIAG Team Leader, the Learning Adviser team will work together to provide a professional service that enhances and supports the quality and delivery of Learn Devon. You will be actively involved in your own continuous professional development and be able to work planned evenings and occasional weekends. The ability to travel across the county is essential.
If you are passionate about adult education and possess the necessary qualifications, experience, and enthusiasm to make a positive impact on the lives of our learners, we would love to hear from you.
