St Matthew’s C of E Primary & Nursery Academy is seeking to appoint two Phase Leads to support the wider Senior Leadership Team. This is an exciting opportunity for two outstanding teachers who are ready to take the next step in their professional journey or for existing leaders who are excited about the challenge of a larger setting. These roles will allow you to make a difference to the provision and development of the EYFS and KS1 settings, alongside being a class teacher. If you are motivated about developing our curriculum, raising standards and providing stimulating learning experiences for young minds, we want to hear from you!
We have a strong track record of supporting our leaders to become the best that they can be with several moving on to become Assistant Heads and Deputy Heads within other Trust schools.
With support from our Assistant Headteacher, you will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership of the phase as well as having a role to play in shaping the strategic direction of Early Years and Key Stage 1 in our school. This is an exciting opportunity where you will be able to use your strong pedagogy and philosophy for early education, along with your creative flare and zest for learning, to lead our team towards becoming a beacon of excellence.

The successful candidate will:
- Be a proven strong Key Stage 1 or Early Years teacher who has a clear understanding of high-quality teaching, learning and curriculum.
- Have leadership skills that will enable staff to flourish and pupils to reach their potential, underpinned by a strong personal philosophy and clear pedagogical subject knowledge.
- Be happy to support the Church of England ethos of our school through our school values.
- Be dedicated to raising standards and removing barriers to learning for all pupils.
- Have high expectations of themselves and pupils with a positive, can do and proactive nature.
- A commitment to developing an engaging and exciting curriculum based on practical and first-hand learning experiences set within a very strong learning environment.
