This is an exciting time to join us at Cornerstone Academy Trust, with schools based on the edge of Exeter in East Devon and in the coastal town of Barnstaple in North Devon. Due to the expansion of the Academy Trust with new year groups opening at Westclyst and Monkerton schools, we are wishing to recruit Teaching Assistants to be based across our Exeter schools. There are several opportunities to work as part of the KS2 team within the Trust. These are term time only although several positions include hours where you will be needed to support in the delivery of our wrap-around care provision, either in the breakfast or afterschool clubs.
Required to start 5th September 2022.
We are wishing to recruit Teaching Assistants to work alongside the class teachers to support children in all areas of the curriculum and to also assist in the preparation of the learning environment, liaising with parents, maintaining pupil records and carrying out a range of administrative tasks to support the teacher. Relevant experience of working with children and qualifications are desirable (e.g. NVQ level 3 or equivalent or higher). It is our responsibility to prepare pupils for the ever-changing, digital work of the 21st Century, therefore, we are looking for teaching assistants who are willing to embrace the ethos of delivering a knowledge rich, purposeful, and project-based curriculum, through the meaningful use of technology. To be successful, you must demonstrate that you are willing to support teachers to teach innovatively and you must be prepared to collaborate within teams with your colleagues. You must also be open to working with children in supporting them in their learning through projects that blend physical and digital learning environments, through video calling and online resources.
The schools offer this exciting curriculum through a wide range of activities, both within the classroom but also through the wider environment. You will be expected to support all children, working together as a professional team, to ensure that every child makes excellent progress. You will support in the delivery of a broad and balanced curriculum offer, including; the teaching of reading, leading PE and Games sessions, going on school trips and residentials and taking responsibility for the mentoring and tutoring of individual children. We provide a full programme of extra-curricular activities, outdoor learning programmes, sporting squads and teams, dedicated art and science rooms, a library service and 1:1 digital devices for every pupil.
You will also be involved in leading playtime activities with children and supporting within the family dining service where older children serve young children each lunch time.
There are both permanent and fixed term positions available and this will be discussed at interview.
• KS2 Vacancy 1: 40 weeks per annum, Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 3.30pm (38 weeks term time, plus 1-week non-pupil days and 1 week holiday working). The actual salary will commence in the region of £13,200 per annum, depending on age and experience.
• KS2 Vacancy 2: 40 weeks per annum, Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 3.30pm (38 weeks term time, plus 1-week non-pupil days and 1 week holiday working). The actual salary will commence in the region of £14,300 per annum, depending on age and experience.
There will be an entitlement to a 30-minute lunch break.
