Does working with children and young people and making a difference to their lives inspire you?
1-2-1 Mentors work with children and young people, helping them to raise their aspirations and build resilience to achieve their potential. We share a passion for strength-based child-focused support; working in partnership with local schools and social care organisations, we provide 1-2-1 mentoring programmes tailored to the development needs of the individual.
1-2-1 Mentors are seeking to recruit enthusiastic, committed individuals who have the qualities to work effectively with children and young people who present with challenging behaviour and experience significant barriers to their learning. Empathy, perseverance, personal resilience and creativity are all essential qualities. The successful candidate must have experience of working successfully with children with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties. We are looking for candidates who have experience in working with primary, secondary, forest school, outdoor education and music therapy.
As a mentor, you must be able to remain calm in challenging situations, show initiative and be confident of lone working in a variety of settings. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with key partners in education and social care are essential.
A driving licence and the use of a car are essential.
For an informal discussion, please contact Sheila Ogilvie on 07535 400941.
1-2-1 Mentors are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect our staff and volunteers to share this commitment. For these posts, pre-employment checks will be carried out and the successful candidates will need to undertake an enhanced DBS check.
