Marland is a successful all age (KS1-4) special school for students with Social, Emotional and/or Mental Health (SEMH) needs. It is located across four sites; Peters Marland, Barnstaple and Central Bideford and has just opened a new 'Secondary Day School' (Yr7-Yr11) in East of the Water, Bideford for 40 students. This post will be based at this new school site and commence September 2023.
The overall Marland group of schools are currently graded as 'Good' by Ofsted Education, with the residential care provision separately judged to be 'Outstanding' by Ofsted Social Care inspectorate. Our overarching ethos is based around personalisation and meeting the needs of each individual child. We utilise 'THRIVE' based social and emotional development at the core of everything we do.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, caring and motivational person to compliment the professional work of teachers by taking responsibility for agreed learning activities for IT under an agreed system of supervision. This may involve planning, preparing and delivering learning activities for individuals/groups or short term for whole classes and monitoring pupils and assessing, recording and reporting of pupils achievement, progress and development.
Training and ongoing professional development opportunities are offered to all staff, as are potential promotion opportunities due to the ongoing expansion of our popular schools.

This role requires a DBS disclosure.
This role requires the ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence and fluency in English.
