The Exeter Central and East Team is an experienced, growing and changing team offering varied and interesting work supporting some of the most vulnerable adults in Exeter.
This is an exciting opportunity where you will learn new skills around carrying out social care assessments and planning care.
This team is a multi-professional team, working closely with health supporting adults with varying needs in Central and East Exeter.
We are looking for passionate, positive individuals who are keen to learn and make a difference and be part of our bustling Exeter Central and East team.

You will develop confidence in assessment skills and risk evaluation and understand more about basic human needs. You will gain skills around support planning and reviewing care packages. You will be supporting people to retain their independence, regain control over their lives, and reach their potential.
You will become familiar with key policies and legislation and help to ensure the Local Authority is meeting its duties and responsibilities under The Care Act and other frameworks. You will attend training on safeguarding and other essential areas of practice.
You will have had experience in working with people in sometimes difficult situations, their carers, other professionals, and with managing conflict. You will build on communication skills and become effective communicating both verbally and through written formats.
You will have developed skills in managing and prioritising your workload individually and work well as part of a caring and hardworking team. You will have the opportunity to be involved in the team’s growth and development, and to contribute to wider working practices across adult social care in Devon.
You will have good time management skills and be able to work under pressure. You need to be IT literate and willing to develop your skills. You will be committed to equality and diversity, to good customer service, and to achieving positive outcomes for vulnerable people.
