About Magdalen Court School
Magdalen Court School provides education for up to 80 pupils with special educational needs. The focus for the school is to support pupils with high levels of anxiety and specific learning difficulties including autism.

We have a vacancy for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to start after Easter holidays 2023.
We require a HLTA, to provide support in addressing the needs of pupils who need particular help to overcome barriers to learning. Candidates will be expected to organise and provide cover within the HLTA team.
To work under the guidance of the teaching staff and Headteacher within an agreed system of supervision, to implement agreed work programmes with individuals/groups, in or out of the classroom. This will involve managing and preparing resources, and supervising/teaching whole classes on a regular basis as well as providing cover for areas of intervention work. To respond to questions and assist pupils in undertaking set activities when fulfilling this supervisory role. Experience of working with children who have autism or complex needs would be an advantage.
Other Duties
- To ensure the safeguarding of students as a priority, at all times following the school’s Safeguarding policies and practice.
- To ensure practice is in line with the school's Health and Safety policy.
- To undertake risk assessment of activities.
The above duties are not exhaustive and the post holder may be required to undertake tasks, roles and responsibilities as may be reasonably assigned to them by the Senior Leadership Team.
