Required for September 2025
The Learning Academy Partnership has an exciting opportunity for a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant to join our School Trust, based in Dunsford Community Academy.
Dunsford Community Academy lies within the heart of the local community, just a 25-minute drive from both Exeter and Newton Abbot on the edge of the stunning Dartmoor National Park. As a village school there is a real sense of community; we value the incredible relationships we have with our families and aim to ensure that all our children have the best start in life and can flourish in all they do.
At Dunsford we are proud to provide children with an excellent early years and primary education. Our curriculum is rich and balanced, providing a wide range of experiences and opportunities for all. We empower children with the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to flourish, removing barriers to learning so every child can achieve their full potential.
Do you have a love for the outdoors and would like to teach forest school? From a full-sized football pitch to our wild garden and Forest School, our provision takes the fullest advantage of our fantastic outdoor space. The environment is very much part of the daily curriculum where a wealth of natural resources makes learning exciting and awe-inspiring for all children. We are looking for a someone to join our team who shares our values and can add depth to our curriculum, enabling our children to grow and flourish.
Our ideal candidate will be someone who is inspired by our Trust mission and can empower our children with the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to fulfil their full potential. A level 3 qualification would be an advantage. Some experience of teaching in a forest school environment is desirable but not essential to the role.
Our Trust is dedicated to building an authentic workforce, so if you are excited about this role but your past experience looks a little different to what we’ve identified, we encourage you to apply anyway. You may just be the perfect candidate! We are proud that we are a single organisation with a shared responsibility for all children, and one where you will feel professionally nourished through our extensive development practice and strong wellbeing offer.
Our School Trust is underpinned by our four core beliefs; we are stronger together, a sense of belonging; removing barriers and realising the possible. This means that by working collectively, we can achieve our absolute best to ensure that children, especially the most vulnerable, can flourish.
We can offer you:
- The opportunity to make a profound difference to children’s lives
- An impactful People Strategy that enables us to nurture, develop and support our colleagues so that they can provide the very best for our children
- A culture that takes work-life balance extremely seriously for all its colleagues
- The chance to work as part of a collective in a values-led school Trust, a single organisation.
- High quality professional development and regular training to develop your knowledge and skills
- A strong, proactive wellbeing network across the school Trust
- The potential for future career development
- Access to a 24-hour Employee Assistance Programme
- Trust benefit schemes including Cycle and Tech schemes
- Generous Local Government Pension Scheme
All our schools are each at the centre of their local communities and celebrate their individuality and distinctiveness. A core feature in how we work as a School Trust is our collective approach in delivering an exceptional education for all children. We do this through working very closely together in mutual support and challenge to empower excellence for our children, families, and the communities that we serve.
In short, our ethos is one of working together to Empower, Excel, Together.
We want to support you in deciding if we are a School Trust that you would like to join. We recommend that you arrange a visit or virtual call so that you can better understand if we are an organisation which excites you and can support you to flourish. Please contact Liam O’Sullivan – Telephone 01626 572971 or email dunsford@lapsw.org – to arrange an appointment.
