Required from September 2023.
The Academy is looking to appoint a Head of Food Technology to lead a key strand of our Technology faculty. We currently offer Food Technology across KS3 and KS4, however the successful applicant will be able to adapt our curriculum to meet the needs of our pupils to further build a modern and forward-thinking curriculum.
If you are an excellent classroom practitioner, who is flexible, dedicated and passionate about delivering exceptional learning experiences, then we want to hear from you.
This is an exciting time to be joining our Academy as we seek additional teachers to meet rapidly increasing student numbers. Our Food department delivers strong outcomes and is a very popular option at Key Stage 4 alongside our KS3 delivery.
The Academy is growing and is in the process of recruiting a Head of Food and Technology to support its future growth. Food sits in the Technology faculty which also comprises Engineering and Construction (comprising bricklaying, carpentry and electrics). We have two full time Food technicians and two Engineering technicians to support the delivery of high-quality lessons. As a school, we are committed to seeing this key faculty grow and develop. With our close links with South Devon College and given our location, the opportunities that exist for links with the hospitality trade, we want this faculty to play a key role in delivering for our students our mantra of ‘genuinely memorable experiences’.
The successful candidate should have Qualified Teacher Status and have an up-to-date knowledge of developments in Food.
The Academy provides high quality professional development opportunities at all stages of teacher development. These range from our extensive ECT programme through to Leadership progression opportunities within Paignton and across the Trust.
The Academy is situated in Torbay and is part of the beautiful English Riviera. It is within easy reach of stunning beaches with golden sands, rolling countryside and Dartmoor. It is also a short drive away via new South Devon link road which brings a host of benefits including easy access to the City of Exeter and its surrounding areas.
Prospective candidates are very welcome to visit or make contact for an informal chat.
