The Devon Moors Federation is a five school federation. It consists of Copplestone, Filleigh, Kilmington, Shute and Spreyton Primary Schools. We are also part of the United Schools Learning Partnership Co-Operative Trust that we joined in February 2018.
Shute Primary School is a rural village school set in the heart of the Devon country side with 90 children on role across four classes. We have two vacancies at the school and ideally both will be filled by the same person. This is an exciting opportunity to join our thriving primary school as it continues to grow and develop. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our friendly, dedicated and hard-working team. Whilst we are advertising two separate posts, ideally the same person would apply for both roles to give continuity of support to the children in the school.
Role 1 Teaching Assistant:
We are looking to recruit a committed, hardworking and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to provide outstanding support for quality teaching and learning. You will need to be cheerful, creative and have a flexible approach.
We are seeking an individual who:
- Can communicate effectively with staff and children;
- Enjoys taking an active part in a team;
- Is proficient in English and Maths and passionate about supporting children in their learning;
- Is committed to ensuring the physical, social and emotional well-being of our children
This role is for 5 mornings per week starting at 8.45am until 1.15pm and includes some break time duties and lunch duty every day.
Role 2 Before School Club Leader:
You will provide a caring, secure environment prior to the beginning of the school day, through individual attention and group activities, and to organise an appropriate range of leisure activities for children between the ages of 4 and 11, ensuring all activities are inclusive for all children to take part in.
This role is for 5 mornings per week term time only for one hour per day from 7.50am.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
This role requires a DBS disclosure.
This role requires the ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence and fluency in English.
Visits to the school can be made by arrangement, please call 01297 33348 to schedule an appointment.
We would very much welcome applications for both roles as the timings allow for these hours to be combined into one position. Please make it clear if you are applying for one of these roles or both on your application or covering email.
Only applications completed using the DCC Non-Teaching Staff application form will be considered. Please do not send a CV. Please send applications to the Office Manager, Mrs Jayne Hall, on email@example.com by 12 noon on the closing date. All relevant information is attached to this advert.
