Barley Lane School is a single site SEMH day-maintained Foundation Trust special school and part of the SENtient Co-operative Trust of 11 Devon County wide special schools / provisions.
The school is a commissioned service provider for Devon County Council Local Authority (DCC LA) and consists of separate sites, all catering for a range of complex / SEMH special educational needs.
This post is being created across to deliver a comprehensive forest school/ outdoor learning education programme as an integral part of our whole school curriculum offer for the school across KS2, 3 and 4.
The Forest School Instructor will seek to develop emotional resilience, personal and social student skills including but not limited to, raising self-esteem, assessing & managing risk, and developing teamwork and leadership skills. This will be achieved through a varied programme which include a broad range of personalised, needs led activities such as:
• Team building activities
• Woodland based activities
• Any other activities personalised by the Outdoor Learning Manager to pupil/ student interests and developmental needs.
