Belong School Devon is an independent special school for students aged 11 to 17 from across Devon. Our approach to learning is built around our vision of enabling all our students to become thriving, successful adults.

This position is a full time, permanent role, to start as soon as practicably possible once all recruitment checks are fully complete. This is a popular subject, accessed by pupils throughout the school, both as part of a life skills programme and at GCSE level.
The successful candidate will be confident to lead the course and take ownership of guiding our pupils’ learning journeys. Applications are welcomed from both ECTs and experienced teachers. There is potential to shape this role around the strengths of an exceptional candidate as we move into new premises which benefits from a commercial grade kitchen teaching space.
We require a degree of flexibility to adapt to the needs of our students, the learning environment, and a commitment to meeting outcomes set on EHCPs and delivering targets set in IEPs. Experience of working in an SEMH setting/special school would be desirable but is not essential.
