About this Role
We are seeking to appoint a number of Examination Invigilators to join our examinations team. Hours are available during school term time (Monday to Friday), on a casual basis, with particular need during the summer exams (May and June).
Our Invigilators work closely with our Exams Officer who organises and oversees all internal and external exams. During the summer term (May and June), we have our main external exams for GCSE and A-Level. On top of this, at different times throughout the year, each year group sit internal examinations. Even for internal exams, students have the full ‘exam experience’ including sitting these exams in the Exam Hall with our invigilators present. This means that students are used to the real exam experience prior to their external exams, hopefully meaning that they are more relaxed when the time comes to sit their GCSEs/A Levels. This also means that invigilators are involved throughout the school year, and not just during the summer exam period.
We have an excellent team of staff who work on a casual basis throughout the school year to support with the smooth running of both internal and external exams. Our Invigilators come from a wide range of backgrounds, who each bring something unique to the team, but ultimately, they all work tirelessly during exam periods to make sure students have the best possible examination experience whilst ensuring that guidelines and regulations for the integrity and security of the examination papers and procedures are followed.
We are looking for several new Invigilators who have good availability throughout the school year and are keen to work as part of a team. Our ideal candidate will have good personal, communication and organisational skills, as well as the ability to remain calm under pressure. Prior experience of invigilating would be beneficial but not essential as full training will be provided, as well as ongoing training and support throughout the school year. Invigilators are expected to complete annual statutory training, and can also access wider training opportunities if you wish to do so.
