Located on the stunning Jurassic Coast and with the East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty close by, Exmouth Community College is one of the largest secondary schools in the country with over 2300 students.
The College is seeking to appoint a suitably skilled individual to undertake the Evening Caretaker role within the Estates and Facilities Team. We require a customer focused individual to provide a first class caretaking service to the College. Working predominantly alone, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth daily operational running of the estate and an ongoing maintenance programme. You will also be responsible for security of the site on weekday evenings including unlocking/locking of College facilities for external hirers. Experience of working within the building maintenance, carpentry or handyman profession would be extremely desirable. You will be expected to carry out various duties and maintenance work as instructed by the Estates and Facilities Manager or Director of Finance & Resources (see the job pack for full details). Whilst it is not essential, it would be desirable for you to be aware of current Health and Safety Regulations with regards to Working at Heights and Manual Handling.
Flexibility is required as you may be expected to cover any absences/holidays within the department. You may also be expected to hold an out of hours ‘On Call’ phone (an additional payment of £10 per evening plus call out rates will be received for this responsibility). It is desirable that a full driving licence is held.
Hours: 30 hours per week (Monday to Friday 4pm - 10.30pm including a daily 30 minute unpaid break)
Salary: £19,566 including enhancement for hours worked after 8pm.
