Orchard Manor School is part of the Special Partnership Trust. We are a special school with a residential provision that caters for nearly 200 students aged 3-19. We provide education and care for pupils with communication and interaction difficulties, Autistic Spectrum Conditions and associated learning needs. Pupils attend either weekly residentially (Monday - Friday) or as day pupils.

Our motto is ‘We live and learn together’. This is achieved through working in partnership with all stakeholders and other relevant professionals. We treat each child as an individual by ensuring the learning opportunities are challenging and engaging. Our aim is to help each child enjoy education which will enable them to be successful members of the school and wider communities.

Our school is situated in beautiful woodland grounds, in the seaside town of Dawlish. We provide a wide range of opportunities to learn outside and offsite to enhance the education and care of our pupils.

We structure our curriculum around our students identified needs in order to enable them to develop holistically.  Alongside academic progress, we are committed to supporting our pupils to develop their life and social skills, confidence and resilience and love of learning to promote their sense of achievement and self-worth. Our ultimate goal is that the young people who leave us are prepared for adulthood; whether that be employment, further education, training or living as independently as possible contributing positively within their community.

We are looking to appoint a new Enterprise Officer to our busy and exciting administrative team at Orchard Manor School. This is a unique role which encompasses a range of tasks and responsibilities, primarily focussed on project management, enterprise and income opportunities, overseeing the development and growth of projects across the school. This will include leading on the lettings of school buildings and facilities and applying for grants to be able to fund projects which will have a positive impact on our students. The role will also include supporting the financial administration within school and seeking price comparisons to ensure value for money.

The ideal candidate will have a project management and/or financial background, with a passion for leading on tasks and completing them on time. We are looking for someone with good interpersonal skills, a team player and someone with a keen eye for detail. As this role will involve managing several projects and tasks at the same time, the ability to prioritise and delegate tasks where required will be key. You must also have a willingness to be a positive ambassador for the school by creating new links with the local and wider community.

A full induction programme and opportunities for professional development will be provided.

Interested applicants may contact the school and ask for Abigail Norris, Admin Manager, for further information.
