Job role
We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Early Years Educator to join our friendly team. You will play a key role in providing high-quality care and education for children aged 0–5 years, supporting their learning, development and wellbeing in a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment.
Main duties
- Plan and deliver engaging activities in line with the EYFS framework
- Support children's learning and development through play and purposeful interactions
- Build positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues
- Observe, assess and record children's progress
- Maintain a safe, clean and inclusive environment
- Support children's personal care routines as required
- Follow safeguarding, health and safety and nursery policies at all times
- Contribute to planning, assessments and team meetings
- Act as a key person for a group of children
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with children and families
- Good understanding of child development and the EYFS
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Organised, reliable and professional approach to work
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
Desirable skills
- Experience supporting children with additional needs
- Experience of using observation and assessment systems
- Full and relevant early years qualification (or above) recognised by the Department for Education – or if not qualified, get in touch about joining us to complete an apprenticeship.
