All Year Round & Term Time Only Positions
Location: Exeter based
We are wishing to recruit additional Early Years Teaching Assistants to work in a modern and well-resourced Early Years setting in one of the Exeter Based schools.
As an Early Years TA you will be supporting in the delivering of an exciting curriculum that offers a high quality education through an exciting, well planned continuous provision. You will assist each day in the preparation of the learning environment inside and outside. The Trust uses the ReadWrite Inc scheme to teach Early Reading and Phonics and we train all our Early Years staff to implement this approach within our settings. Early Years staff are often responsible for overseeing the progress of a group of children and may be required to meet with parents regularly to report to them on the progress their child is making, through both online and in-person meetings. You will be required to maintain pupil records and carry out a range of administrative tasks to support the teaching staff. Staff use 'Evidence Me' as a tool to track progress and inform the next steps for children.
Cornerstone Academy Trust has schools based on the edge of Exeter in East Devon and in the coastal town of Barnstaple in North Devon. Our employees have access to the Local Government pension scheme, a health scheme, a cycle to work scheme and subsidised meals in our staff café with food cooked and served by our own chefs. Successful candidates will be provided with state-of-the-art IT equipment to help them fulfil their duties and we support all staff with an investment in their professional development through training and a good performance management process, where a bonus is payable to those who achieve highly.
During term time we provide wrap-around care for children across the schools (Reception up to Year 6) from 7.30am until 6.00pm Monday to Friday and we offer a holiday club for school aged children in each school holiday period, bar the Christmas holidays.
We have a mixture of term time and all-year-round vacancies available. Most positions will help support the wraparound care we offer at breakfast time and after school, so the day could start as early as 8am and finish around 5pm. However, we would still like to hear from you should you only be able to offer hours during the regular school day. Please state your preference and availability as part of your application.
Salaries will commence at £19,000 full time equivalent, based on a 37 hour week, but will be more for working longer days. Term time only posts will be subject to a pro rating of the salary to reflect the weeks worked per annum. All positions include a 30-minute lunch break each day.
Relevant experience of working with children and qualifications are desirable (e.g., NVQ level 3 or equivalent or higher). You will need to have a willingness to attend CPD and familiarise yourself with the latest developments in the EYFS curriculum that the Trust is implementing.
Visits to the schools are welcome by prior arrangement.
We look forward to receiving your application and hopefully meeting you as part of the recruitment process
