Ellen Tinkham School, Exeter, part of the Learn to Live Federation, is a Special School for children and young people aged 3 - 19 with severe or profound and multiple learning difficulties.
We are currently looking for two Teaching Assistants to work in our Early Years Department to commence as soon as possible.
Working under the guidance of the class teacher you will support pupils as part of a class team. We offer a child centred curriculum and you will enable our pupils to access learning opportunities and to achieve their full potential both educationally and emotionally. You will help deliver pre-planned learning, care and therapy programmes in an inspiring learning environment.
Previous experience of working with young children in an early learning environment is preferable. An understanding of the EYFS curriculum, continuous provision, encouraging independent problem solving, creative play and learning through play is desirable, along with some SEN experience.
You will have an interest in SEN, be positive and enthusiastic, have empathy and a willingness to learn and follow instructions. Combined with excellent communication skills, confidence using IT, flexibility and resilience.
The working hours are 9am - 3.30pm (Monday - Friday), to include a team meeting once a week.
Part time applications will also be considered, but the working hours shown above still apply.

This role requires a DBS disclosure.
This role requires the ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence and fluency in English.
