This is the Role
The Deputy Director Transformation and Business Services is a key role within the Council’s Leadership Team. You will support and deputise for the Director of Transformation and Business Services by providing strategic and operational leadership. As the Deputy, you will be fully aware of every aspect of the Directorate priorities (and those of the Council) to drive through service improvement and transformational change. In deputising for the Director, you will be a leader of organisational culture change to ensure we deliver tangible outcomes.
We are looking for a leader who thrives on making things happen and who can deliver on ambitious targets, work at pace and bring your expertise and enthusiasm to maximise the opportunities to embrace technology and critically to drive forward the digital agenda to support the Council’s strategic objectives.
Whilst you’ll have oversight of operational services including the Digital and Technology Services (including Cyber Security) and Scomis (the Council’s ICT business unit providing support to the education sector across the country), of equal importance is your ability to lead change and develop collaborative working relationships with our partners, elected members and staff.
You’ll have the opportunity to attend Strategic Leaderships Team and Director level Change Boards on a regular basis and will use your presentation and reporting skills attending Committee meetings including Cabinet and Scrutiny.
