An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Cyber Security Risk and Compliance Analyst to join our Cyber Security Operations Service. We offer a supportive and stimulating work environment, and share a passion to protect against cybercrime.
To succeed in this role, you will be a motivated team player who is confident in taking responsibility to ensure that robust processes are in place to identify and manage cyber security risks at Devon County Council.
We’re looking for someone who has a comprehensive understanding of modern cyber security threats, and how these could impact on Devon County Council. You’ll also have a detailed working knowledge of cyber security risk management, including related tools, technologies and methods.
You will work with services across the authority to identify and record risks relating to cyber security and will provide expertise and recommendations of measures that reduce the exposure to an acceptable residual level. To support this, you’ll need a strong understanding of technical and organisational security controls, and awareness of how these are applied in practice.
This is a key role within the Cyber Security Operations Service, that will take the lead on conducting cyber security risk assessments that support a variety of council aims – including ICT projects, service processes, product/service evaluations and procurement activities. You will help to raise awareness of risk with relevant stakeholders, and assist with identifying and implementing mitigating controls to ensure residual risk scores are within tolerable parameters.
You’ll also be undertaking activities relating to the authority’s ICT and Cyber Security policy framework, providing assurance that the policy provisions are understood and complied with by all service areas, partners and suppliers as applicable.
As this role involves sharing important security messages, you must have the ability to communicate effectively with staff and third parties at all levels, ensuring information and advice is fully understood and can be acted upon effectively.
