Fixed term post to cover for a secondment.
Tiverton High School is part of the Federation of Tiverton Schools, along with Heathcoat Primary School and Rackenford Church of England Primary School. We are an innovative and successful school situated within easy reach of the M5, Exeter, Exmoor and the north Devon coast. We have over 1200 students aged 11-16 on role and have a genuinely comprehensive intake. Our philosophy is grounded on the belief that we are here to help children succeed.
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Cover Supervisor who will oversee lessons for teachers who are temporarily absent and support teaching and learning across the school. We will consider applications from any candidates wishing to work on a full or part-time basis. This is a fixed term contract to cover a secondment until 31st May 2025.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising work that has been pre-set in accordance with the schools’ guidelines, and ensuring that students carry out this work to the best of their abilities.
You will manage the behaviour of students whilst they undertake their work and ensure a constructive and positive environment is always enforced, whilst de-escalating situations within the classroom in the correct way ensuring safeguarding procedures are always adhered.
As a colleague at Tiverton High School, you will join our duty team once a week to help to ensure that our students are supervised at lunchtime.
