  • Multiple Locations
  • Part Time
  • £28,143 - £33,574 pro rata (in line with qualifications and experience)

We are seeking an enthusiastic, well-organised and suitably experienced professional to lead this small, thriving and growing Counselling Service that runs within Iron Mill College.

Iron Mill Counselling Service (IMCS) is a low-cost community counselling service based in Exeter, Devon, and Poole, Dorset, providing a valuable service while also providing placement opportunities for students in training on our accredited counselling and psychotherapy courses. Client referrals to the service are made via GP practices, charities, local colleges/universities and self-referrals.

The Counselling Service Manager leads the service, including initial intake and risk assessment of clients; recruitment, selection and induction of counselling/psychotherapy students; appropriate referral of clients to student counsellors; and managing bookings and responding to any issues arising.

Your role will also include supporting student counsellors and psychotherapists to grow in their professional understanding, competence and confidence by being available to give them encouragement and guidance where needed. The role includes the ongoing development and growth of the service, and the recruitment and line management of further staff members as the service grows.

The Counselling Service Manager is supported by a qualified Senior Counsellor, and works closely with the IMC Placement Co-ordinator, and with the administration team at both sites.
