Breakthrough Transformation Trust is a local charity providing high quality care and education for children and young people who face life challenges.
Location: The Lighthouse, Kingsteignton
We are seeking to appoint an outstanding Core Worker who will be based at The Lighthouse. Our ideal candidate will have excellent teamwork and communication skills, will actively champion the Trust’s values and maintain a professional attitude that is representative of Breakthrough Transformation Trust.
We are looking for someone who has diverse experience, as well as a passion for working with young people with additional needs. As a young person’s Core Worker, you will work with students aged between 4 and 25. The successful candidate will need to be able to build a therapeutic alliance and work with children and young people to help them feel safe and secure and to reduce anxiety. They will also need to work with teachers and our in-house therapeutic team in order to follow Educational Health Care Plans, educational schemes of work, deliver sessions and write reports.
We encourage core workers to use their skills and passions to engage young people, across a broad variety of educational, therapeutic and vocational activities, with a view of promoting Independent Living Skills and Employability.
We are a registered Independent Specialist College for post-16 and provide alternate provision for compulsory school aged students (Y1-Y11). We work with children, young people and families with various life challenges.
