Due to retirement, we are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and talented specialist Computing Teacher to join our school from September 2023.
The role of the Computing Teacher is a unique opportunity to play an integral part in shaping our approach and curriculum for technology throughout the school, with creativity and ambition.
Our aim is to prepare our pupils for life in the modern world, who are proficient in the use of technology and the opportunities it can provide.
We are looking for a teacher with a genuine passion for their subject who will inspire, motivate and engage all pupils and have the expertise and knowledge of current best practice in terms of computing education. Our school has a purpose-built Computing suite, with access to the most up to date classroom technology.
This role is to commence in September 2023 for 3 days a week (0.6fte) ideally Tuesdays to Thursdays, however this is flexible for the right candidate. This post is suitable for an experienced or newly qualified teacher, either primary or secondary trained, wishing to join an innovative and inspiring school.
We have an in-house Operations Manager and IT Technician who are responsible for the infrastructure of all the IT equipment in the school and therefore, the successful candidate’s role will be to focus on teaching and learning.
Key responsibilities will include:
• Delivering high-quality computing lessons to pupils in KS1 and KS2
• Developing lesson plans and teaching materials that are engaging, relevant and challenging
• Providing regular feedback on pupils and tracking their progress
• Collaborating with colleagues to develop and improve the computing curriculum
• Promoting the use of technology in the classroom to enhance teaching and learning
• Delivering CPD to colleagues
