Reaching for Independence is a dynamic short-term service which promotes independence, self-confidence, and positive wellbeing.

We Build on an individuals’ strengths, aspirations, and goals by developing strategies and with the use of assistive technology we can broaden their options.  We work closely with individuals and their families to achieve the goals that are important to the person, such as independent living skills, employment, education, and being part of their community. 

We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic individuals to work in our Reaching for Independence services in The South and West areas of Devon.

You will have an ability to inspire and encourage a broad range of young people and adults to overcome barriers to their independence. You will need to be able to work in a goal focussed way to achieve agreed outcomes.

The Enabling role is community based which can include working in a persons’ home or working within the community. We work with individuals to increase their levels of independence, through training and skills coaching with the aim of enabling and not disabling. 

The emphasis of this role will be helping individuals to prepare for and access paid employment. You will need to be able to work with our partner agencies in a collaborative, aspiring and innovative way to create job opportunities that benefit both the individual and employer. Be passionate about supporting individuals into employment and promoting the benefits.
