We are looking for a well organised and self-motivated person to join the Commissioning and Contracting Team within the Public Health Directorate to provide administrative and support functions to the Public Health Commissioners. This role will be varied so will suit someone who is flexible and proactive. You will need to have good communication and interpersonal skills. You will also possess excellent administrative and organisational skills to undertake tasks across the full range of commissioning and contracting activities, along with being an experienced loggist/minute taker. This role will give you exposure to and some experience of all aspects of commissioning.
The requirements for this post are:
- the ability to carry out commission and contracting administrative tasks and processes, recognising and adapting to changing priorities. The County Council is required to oversee and approved statutory returns to the Department of Health (and other bodies) and this role is critical in ensuring accurate submissions are made. Keeping contracts and grants documentation and issuing contract variations/extensions and other legal documents where necessary.
- confident in using technology and IT systems, using these to support and produce high quality work across all tasks, able to use MS applications including Outlook, Work, Excel and Teams
- being able to use initiative and work with minimal supervision, frequently working remotely there is the need to be self-motivated with good time managements skills;
- the ability to adapt to changing situations, remaining calm and resilient under pressure
- good interpersonal skills, being able to communicate effectively with a range of people using a variety of means (telephone, email, face to face etc) The post holder is required to work with a wide range of agencies and stakeholders sometimes in complex relationships supporting wider partnerships in which Public Health is one of a number of commissioners.

- attendance at contract performance meetings and other meetings to support stakeholder groups/other groups to whom Public Health is accountable and ensure/keep action log notes.
The role is based at County Hall in Exeter but there are hybrid working arrangements.
