Looking for a great start to your career in Civil Engineering? Our Degree Apprenticeship programme could be the perfect fit for you!
Our comprehensive 5-year Apprenticeship provides a great alternative to University and includes placements in a variety of departments, giving you the chance to gain hands-on experience in areas such as:-

With opportunities to work on projects ranging from road and bridge construction to flood alleviation and recycling, you'll see first-hand how the need for projects is decided and be part of their delivery.
Throughout the programme, you'll attend Exeter University to learn the skills you need to excel in your career, while working alongside and being supported by our experienced Engineers and Technicians. Plus, you'll have access to a personal mentor to help guide your progression. In addition to earning a B.Eng Civil Engineering degree, you'll also have the opportunity to apply to become an Incorporated Engineer (I.Eng) with the Institute of Civil Engineers (ICE).
Our commitment to your career development extends beyond the Apprenticeship programme. You'll receive a competitive salary with opportunities for progression, as well as a range of benefits, including 25 days of annual leave (increasing to 30 after 5 years of service), flexible hours, paid time to study, and a generous pension scheme, with the option to apply for a sabbatical.
To apply, we're looking for candidates with at least three A Levels (or predicted A-Levels) at AAB, including Maths and a Physical Science or equivalent. Alternatively, you may have already completed a Level 3 Engineering Qualification with Distinction including all maths units.
Upon completing the programme, our apprenticeships can lead to a permanent position in any of the departments you have spent time in. This provides you with the opportunity to see which areas of Civil Engineering best suit your interests and career goals.
Our bases are located throughout the county, with main offices in Exeter and Barnstaple, and projects located across the whole county of Devon.
