Do it For Devon. We are seeking an Advanced Social Worker to join our Assessment and Intervention Service covering East and Mid Devon.
About the Role
As an Advanced Social Worker, you will be responsible for managing a smaller, but more complex caseload, with the key objective of improving the outcomes for some of the most vulnerable young people and families in East & Mid Devon.
To achieve this you will champion relationship-based Social work alongside a commitment to continual development and improvement within your team. You will be confident and competent at demonstrating reflective learning whilst encouraging positive change for children and families in your area.
Assessment and Intervention is a busy, fast-paced service where you will be working with children and young people with a complexity of needs whilst undertaking in-depth assessments.
Alongside this, you will work closely with your Team Manager to assist with the day-to-day operations of your team, providing support, supervision and mentoring to Social Work colleagues.
By building supportive, trusting and professional relationships you will contribute to an effective and efficient service, making a positive difference to children and families in Devon.
Skills and Experience
Our Advanced Social Workers provide a lead social work role within each of our teams, supporting the development of good evidence-based practice. With substantial post-qualifying experience and the ability to demonstrate that you’re working in line with the BASW PCF framework, you will:
- Demonstrate the ability to work holistically with families, supporting children with complex needs within a multi-agency environment
- Have evidence of substantial post-qualifying training and development
- Be able to lead improvement and challenge the quality of social care practice in a constructive manner
- You will also need to either be a Practice Educator or willing to undertake the relevant training at the earliest opportunity
- Champion high standards of professional social work practice
- Encourage and support opportunities for reflection and learning, delivering on-the-job training, coaching, and mentoring to unqualified/alternatively qualified staff, students, and less experienced social workers

This role is currently eligible for an annual Retention payment of £2,000 per annum pro rata.
