Founded in 1980, ELF has been raising money to fund improved facilities, better equipment and research at the haematology ward at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital. Today, we are the leading patient-led support organisation for families affected by blood cancer in the South West and we also now provide transport and counselling services.
Like many charities, we’ve had a couple of difficult pandemic years which has affected our fundraising activities. However, through careful stewardship and the commitment of our staff and volunteers, we are positive about the future, the importance of our work and the impact it has on the people we support. We are now looking to recruit a new CEO to lead the charity in the delivery of our strategic goals.
We need someone who is credible and confident. You will be a natural leader - able to inspire and motivate not only your small team but also Trustees, volunteers, supporters and patients. You will be able to build a strong relationship with our colleagues at the Hospital, developing an understanding of their work and the needs of the patients and their families. We need someone who is financially astute, well organised and professional, confident in representing ELF in a variety of settings.
You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of all areas of the charity, working closely with the team and the Board of Trustees. This will include overseeing the HR, Finance, Project Management, Communications and Income Generation activities.
