Would you like to be part of a busy and modern kitchen leading a team to provide each day a high quality, freshly prepared hot dinner for the children and staff within an outstanding Primary School? If so, we are wishing to recruit a Chef to join the existing team of Chefs and the wider catering team who work across the schools.
We are looking for an experienced and qualified Chef who will deliver the unique and well-renowned family dining service that provides meals for Broadclyst, Westclyst, Monkerton, Yeo Valley and Clyst St Mary Primary Schools’ pupils. You will be supporting the Head Chef, Deputy Head Chef, and catering team to deliver an exciting menu which we design in house. We currently cater for over a one thousand pupils and staff daily, plus ad hoc visitors across the schools. A busy school kitchen will cook on average four hundred dinners each day. We also run a café for staff and parents that you will oversee.
The successful candidate will need to not only be a great chef but able to lead a team, be flexible, dependable, and creative. We wish to employ someone who enjoys good food and will embrace the school’s aim to deliver a ‘family dining’ experience, with nice, home cooked, seasonal food served to the table. Additionally, you will need to demonstrate skills in baking cakes and treats for the coffee shop service.
This is a permanent position post is Monday to Friday, for 45 hours per week for 40 weeks a year. The day begins at 8am and finishes at 5.30pm.
