Combe Martin Primary School is seeking a reliable, proactive and friendly Caretaker to join our school community. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who takes pride in creating a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained environment for children, staff and visitors.
Combe Martin Primary School sits at the heart of the vibrant coastal village of Combe Martin, nestled between Exmoor National Park and the stunning North Devon coastline. The Caretaker will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the school site, including:
• Ensuring the building and grounds are safe, secure and well-presented
• Carrying out routine maintenance, repairs and DIY tasks
• Managing cleaning standards and supporting the cleaning team where needed
• Overseeing site security, including opening/locking up
• Monitoring health & safety requirements (checks, records and compliance tasks)
• Liaising with contractors and supporting school staff with premises needs
We are looking for someone who:
• Is practical, organised and takes initiative
• Has strong DIY/maintenance skills
• Is committed to maintaining high standards of safety and cleanliness
• Can build positive relationships with staff, pupils and the community
• Is flexible and able to respond to the day-to-day needs of a busy school
Experience in a similar role would be beneficial, but not essential - training and support will be provided for the right candidate.
