Join Our Team as Business Systems Manager - SystmOne (Public Health Nursing)
Are you passionate about enhancing healthcare through technology?
We are seeking a dedicated Business Systems Manager to ensure the effective operation and ongoing development of SystmOne, the new Electronic Patient Record system currently being implemented for the Public Health Nursing service in Devon.
You will act as the subject matter expert for SystmOne, responsible for (but not limited to)
- technical leadership
- business change/project management
- system administration
- data quality
- helpdesk management
- training.
The role will provide overall management, operational support and guidance on the development of the clinical system and act as the point of specialist knowledge to ensure that SystmOne supports clinical and business activities appropriately and efficiently.
You will carry out change analysis, configuration changes and developments, onboard new users, provide tier 2/3 helpline support, and deliver training throughout implementation and business as usual business system management.
You'll also develop user documentation and maintain an organised online resource repository including standard operating procedures. You will play a leadership role in optimising the new system, ensuring data quality and enhancing its efficiency and functionality.
As a specialist in business system management experience of SystmOne systems configuration, management or administration would be highly beneficial as is experience of working in a health service.
Key Responsibilities:
- The development of business cases and project initiation documents
- To identify via user engagement or horizon scanning develop system change requirements.
- To provide support to co-ordinate the delivery, development and continual improvement of key Information Systems, business systems training courses for DCC/Health staff, partner agency staff and other business systems users.
- To collaborate with Data and Intelligence to maximise value of case management data and analytics requirements.
- To provide project change analysis and project support from initiation to completion. This will include developing and documenting existing and new business processes and innovative ways of working, consulting with relevant staff groups to ensure government requirements and business needs are met.
- Communicate with senior leaders, as required, to ensure proportionate and effective system changes take place at agreed times and do not adversely affect business operations.
- To ensure Information Systems are configured and aligned to business processes, this includes the creation of workflows, forms and management of configurations.
- The identification and logging of system faults, liaising with end users, system providers and technical staff hosting the systems to resolve issues.
- Setup user access and role-based permissions including ensuring correct access rights for NHS Smartcards
Qualities:

- Develops trusting, empathetic, and positive relationships with a range of teams, promoting collaboration and effective communication
- Shows a keen interest in how technology can enhance the delivery of clinical care, demonstrating a forward-thinking approach to support PHN’s technological advancements
- Experience of working in a healthcare setting with system administration/development on SystmOne is important.
- Experience of the management or support of case management systems
- Experience of working with and processing personal data
