The National Bus Pass is an England-wise concession currently enjoyed by more than 130.000 Devon residents. It allows the holder to travel for free by bus from 09:30 weekdays or unlimited travel weekends and Bank Holidays.
The Concessionary Travel Team are seeking someone to join the Team to administer the concession. This involves processing applications received online, by post or by e-mail, dealing with enquiries and assisting elderly and vulnerable residents in accessing the concession. We also conduct on-bus surveys throughout the county travelling by bus to ensure passes are being used in accordance with the terms and conditions of use.
Experience of working in a busy office environment with changing demands and an ability to prioritise workload is essential. Excellent IT skills are essential as you will be using a range of Microsoft systems including Teams/Outlook/Excel and bespoke systems for issuing and managing passes and managing casework. A good geographical knowledge of Devon is advantageous bus not essential.
Devon County Council can accommodate agile working, with a combination of working from both from home and in our office at County Hall in Exeter once fully trained.
