Devon County Council's Highways Materials Laboratory is looking for an experienced Materials Technician for the role of Assistant Asset Intelligence Officer.
The role involves providing technical support to the Highway Asset Management Group to ensure its effective operation. The successful candidate will assist in materials testing, pavement engineering, and provide advice in line with the County Council’s policies and programmes. They will also be responsible for timely delivery of investigation reports, conducting audits of the laboratory’s work and systems to ensure compliance with the Laboratory Quality Management System.
Applicants should have proficiency in materials testing, quality system audits, Chapter 8 Traffic Management, and a thorough understanding of highway procedures and specifications. They should also have a good awareness of Health and Safety, experience in calibrating laboratory equipment, the ability to lead on-site investigations, and be willing to travel across Devon.
This hybrid role includes working from home, the office, and on-site. Office work will be based at The Materials Laboratory, Rockbeare Hill Quarry, Rockbeare.
