Reporting to: Asset Intelligence Senior Engineer

Devon County Council is seeking a dedicated and technically skilled Asset Intelligence Officer to support our Highway Asset Management Group. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong background in materials testing, pavement engineering, and site investigations to contribute to the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct pavement investigations and laboratory testing.
- Produce detailed reports based on site investigations and testing.
- Liaise with internal and external clients to resolve issues and ensure satisfaction.
- Audit laboratory work and contractor activities to ensure compliance.
- Supervise and train technicians and junior staff.
- Evaluate and procure new equipment and technologies.
- Support financial processes and quotation preparation.
- Maintain and develop Laboratory Management Systems and office technologies.
What We’re Looking For:
Essential:
- NVQ Level 4 in Engineering or Science (or equivalent).
- Extensive experience in materials testing and site investigations.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Valid driving licence and willingness to work nights/weekends.
Desirable:
- Chapter 8 and Health & Safety qualifications.
- Trailer towing licence.
- Experience with ISO 17025 and Devon CC highway policies.
