Adult Skills Commissioning Lead

This role leads the delivery of the adult skills devolved powers and funding to the Devon and Torbay Combined County Authority supporting the achievement of the growth priorities set by
the Combined County Authority in its Local Growth Plan.
Initially this role will be part of the Employment and Skills team at Devon County Council and the work will be delivered under a Service Level Agreement between the County Council and
the DTCCA. The post holder will work closely with the DTCCA’s Director of Operations, the DTCCA Board and the DTCCA Skills and Employment Advisor Group and work alongside colleagues within the wider economic development services at Torbay Council and Devon County Council.
Engagement and partnership working locally and nationally are strong requirements of the role. Collaborating with a range of partners, including the HE and FE sector across the area, schools, businesses, the VCSE and health sectors, close collaboration with other skills programmes and services, including Adult Community Learning the Careers Hub, Boot Camps, Connect to Work programme and the Local Skills Improvement Partnership are
expected.
Recognising the value of learning from others nationally, particularly other devolved areas already delivering devolved adult skills funding and developing strong networks and working at a national level are key parts of the role.
