Why this school?
Sparkwell’s school environment is calm and purposeful. During lessons, pupils across the school are focused, respectful and attentive. The curriculum motivates and engages pupils, and effective pastoral support ensures that pupils settle quickly and feel safe and happy at school (Ofsted 2019).
Having started as a Free School in 2014, Sparkwell offers something different, the small size makes them feel like a big family, set in a peaceful rural location, but not far from Plympton and Ivybridge. It is a small school with a big heart. In July 2023 a parent wrote: 'I can't speak highly enough of her experience at Sparkwell. It is an amazing school full of caring and talented people' with another saying, 'thank you for this wonderful, nurturing, special little space where children can be themselves'. We have always had a broad and balanced curriculum; we have the Music Mark, Eco Green Flag award, silver Artsmark and are a Recognised Forest School Provider delivering Forest School year-round to all ages. We currently have 4 mixed age classes and a PAN of 15 children.
The Link Academy Trust vision, ‘Flourishing schools for all at the heart of our communities’, is integral to everything we do. You can rely on colleagues across the Trust to support and guide, you will be listened to and heard. Our overarching philosophy of valuing individuality and human flourishing permeates our shared vision and links our schools across the trust.
What we can offer you:
- Salary Sacrifice offers, including Bike2Work, Tech Scheme and Gym Membership
- Substantial workplace pension
- Term time ‘Give Back Day’ to take for personal reasons
