Teaching Assistant - St Mary's C. of E Primary School

  • Multiple Locations
  • Multiple Terms
  • £9.60 - £9.79 per hour (pay award pending)

An opportunity has arisen at St Mary's Primary School for an enthusiastic, talented, resilient and committed person to encourage, motivate and support a young child in school.   School work is rewarding and satisfying with no two days the same. You will ultimately be part of a team ensuring a safe and happy learning environment for all children.

This temporary post is formally attached to two children and therefore, when the funding is withdrawn or the children leave the school the post will no longer be available. However at that stage we would also consider someone who may wish to train to become a higher level teaching assistant. The curriculum work will be prepared by the teacher and as with all Teaching Assistant posts you may be used in other areas of the school as and when required.

As a Teaching Assistant you will need to be calm but firm and enjoy working with children, having a minimum qualification at GCSE Maths and English. Experience of working in a classroom situation or a qualification as a Teaching Assistant, NVQ2 or NVQ3 would be ideal.  We are looking for someone who can continue to liaise and build relationships with parents and families and, therefore, good and courteous communication skills are a necessity.

Our highly successful federation is a popular choice with children, parents and staff and our schools boast a friendly and welcoming environment.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
This role requires a DBS disclosure.
This role requires the ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence and fluency in English.
