For this role: You will be mainly office based but will have an essential car users allowance to enable site visits around the district. You will be working within the Development Management team which comprises planning officers, specialist heritage and design officers and planning support staff.
What you'll be doing: You will have a high volume workload and deal with all stages of the development management process giving pre-application advice, making site visits, writing reports, making recommendations, discharging conditions and representing the council in appeals and at committee.
Who we're looking for: We are seeking motivated staff with excellent communication and customer service skills. You will need to work well under pressure on your own cases and as part of a team.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have, or be working towards, a relevant planning degree. Opportunities will be available to progress towards RTPI membership if not already a member.
A full driving licence is required for this role.
