This is a wonderful opportunity for the right person to work with a highly dedicated team of Trustees and the academy leadership team. As a multi-academy trust, we are responsible for Broadclyst, Westclyst and Yeo Valley Primary Schools. The location of this position is Broadclyst.

You will either need to have past experience as a professional clerk to governors, OR the aptitude to learn procedural and legal matters of school governance in order to lead in giving advice and direction to the Board and its sub committees.

You will have a vital role in organising committee meetings, particularly the “Local Advisory Boards” for both Broadclyst and Westclyst schools, minute taking and liaising with all the Trustees in order to ensure the smooth running of the Board. You will be accountable to the Chair of Trustees and will work closely with him and the CEO.

The successful candidate will have the proven ability to be concise and accurate in minute taking.

Although the majority of work will be within the term time, some work within school holidays may be required. Meetings take place typically from 5pm to 7pm every half term for each of the two schools. Occasionally you will be asked to Clerk meeting that begin earlier or later than these times. Therefore, your availability must offer a certain level of flexibility.

Cornerstone Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, and expects all of its staff and volunteers to share this commitment. A DBS check will be undertaken and references taken up.

Visits to the school are welcome by prior arrangement.

A job description and an application form can be obtained either from the school on 01392 461288 or at www.tcat.education/vacancies.
