Wave’s values, developed by all stakeholders are:
1. Teamwork
We recognise that when we work together effectively we are stronger and more consistent.
2. Empathy
Consider the consequences of my decisions, large and small, on those around me.
3. Inclusivity
Everybody is treated fairly and equally and no one is marginalised or left behind.
4. Respect
We will ensure that we have due regard for the feelings, wishes or rights of others in every action we take.
5. Positive
It is our intention to stay constructive, optimistic and confident both for and with our young people and their families.

We believe that the values that we embody in Wave MAT empower young people to succeed. These are the values we are looking for when we seek new staff.

Glendinning House Academy plans to open to students in September 2020.

We are a school for children aged from 7 to 19 (key stage 2 to key stage 5) with social interaction and communication needs including those on the Autism Spectrum. Initially, we will open with up to 48 places for children, growing to 120 students over the first 4/5 years; this will include 12 sixth form places. Our students will all have Education, Health and Care Plans with a primary need of Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) or Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN).

Glendinning House Academy will provide a personalised supportive environment with a curriculum set in the context of nature. Students will use outdoor learning to access the National Curriculum, developing communication, interaction, social and emotional skills. Working in partnership with our students and their parents/carers, Glendinning House Academy will support our students academically and in their journey to independence. These partnerships will play a vital role in ensuring our students enjoy, succeed and achieve.

You will be responsible for leading, managing and inspiring the school, ensuring all children/young people referred to the school and employees in the school achieve their full potential in an inclusive and safe environment in accordance with local and statutory policies and guidance.

At Wave, we have a strong vision and four core principles, to lead, empower, achieve and drive, that as a Principal you will be expected to embody in your working practices.

For an informal discussion, please contact Clare Barden, Executive Principal - Wave Multi Academy Trust, by emailing cbarden@wavemat.org.
