Required to work with Devon children in Exeter.
Devon County Council maintains a register of relief school escorts, to cover permanent members of staff who are absent either short or long term. These absences cover sickness, training and personal appointments, not annual leave, so the hours are varied. School escorts are employed to accompany children who have special needs on the journey to and from school. They are responsible for the health, safety and well being of the children between home and school. They therefore need to have initiative, a sense of humour and a genuine interest in children. Escorts are usually picked up and returned home by the school transport vehicle. Therefore, your home post code will be considered before you are sent an application pack. Full training will be provided prior to commencing work.
The hours on the relief register vary, but will be around school opening and closing times, which tend to be in the region of 7am - 10am and 2pm - 5.30pm.

For further information and an application pack please telephone 01392 383615/383577.
